Features and functionality
C-Access is a BLE-controlled mechanical actuator for vehicle remote controls. The device enables time-dependent or unlimited use of a vehicle via a smartphone app. For this purpose, encrypted access authorizations (reservation/access token/digital key) are transmitted to the user's smartphone and from there via BLE to the device in the vehicle (C-Access). The user can now open and lock the vehicle with the app.
To do this, the original vehicle key is placed in the C-Access housing. The two integrated mechanical actuators are used to operate the locking and unlocking buttons on the vehicle key. After locking, the device also blocks the vehicle's immobilizer.
Usage process
- Our CCom communication server can receive digital authorization tokens (reservation/digital key) for vehicle use from external booking or fleet systems (REST API).
- Alternatively, users who require unlimited access to the vehicle (whitelist) can also be managed directly in the web-interface of our CCom communication server.
- The access data is forwarded to the Convadis app (C-App) or to a separate app with integrated Convadis software.
- As soon as the vehicle to be used is in the BLE reception area, the access data is transferred from the smartphone to C-Access.
- The vehicle can now be locked and unlocked via smartphone during the specified usage time. This is also possible at locations without mobile phone reception.
- Early termination of use can also be transmitted to the booking system, so that the vehicle is immediately available again for other users.
- The locking and unlocking times are reported back to the booking system via the CCom server.
- The transmission of access data between the CCom server and C-Access in the vehicle is end-to-end encrypted. Communication between the smartphone app and C-Access is also encrypted.
