With our experience from almost 30 years in the fleet pool and carsharing business, both in the operational and in the technical area, and the practical know-how based on it, we have developed C-Compact: This is an access and data acquisition device for vehicle fleets, which meets all the requirements for a secure access control and data collection of pool vehicles.
With this device you have an extremely versatile fleet management system at your disposal: Together with our communication and configuration servers, as well as the open interfaces to the fleet administration platforms, we can offer a fleet management system that has numerous features with which you can ensure the optimization of utilization and the data provision of your fleet.
Our system combines numerous strengths - from intuitive access control to the exact data acquisition of all (partial) journeys according to common standards, there is almost nothing that our fleet management system cannot do. In this way, you ensure optimal utilization of your vehicles and reduce the TCO for your entire vehicle fleet in the long-term based on data.
Maintain automated access control and increase vehicle utilization
C-Compact's integrated access control only gives authorized and identified persons access to your (pool) vehicles. When using the system with reservations, these are transmitted to the vehicle and assigned once and unambiguously in this way.
The use of the wrong vehicle or at the wrong time, as well as double bookings are no longer possible and prevent operational follow-up problems and costs. Existing reservation/fleet management systems can be used to manage time dependent bookings. Alternatively, your own booking or fleet management tool can be connected to our server. Thanks to the uncomplicated and flexible vehicle allocation, our pool vehicle optimization system can significantly increase the utilization of your fleet and significantly reduce operating and acquisition costs.
Access via App or RFID-cards
- Convadis smartphone app: The app enables vehicle access via the Bluetooth function of the smartphone. Since encrypted bookings or access tokens (digital keys) can be forwarded to the vehicle via smartphone, access via app also works in underground car parks without mobile phone reception.
The Convadis app is freely available on the Apple Store (iPhone) and in Google Play (Android). If desired, the app can also be adapted to the CD/CI of your company (white labeling) or fully integrated into your company app as a fleet management system (see “CAppLib”). Personalization of the app is conveniently done via QR codes or deep links.
learn more RFID cards: Access to the vehicles in your fleet is possible via RFID cards or badges. Existing badges/cards e.g., for building access, time tracking, beverage vending machines, etc. can also be used. This means that no additional cards need to be purchased and managed.
Our fleet management system can easily be used mixed with app and RFID cards.
Time-independent access via "white-list"
Depending on the application, unrestricted access to the vehicles is often sufficient – i.e., without prior reservation for a certain period of time. In this way, for example, the handover of keys between different drivers can be simplified, for example in large areas or when drivers are frequently changing. In contrast to a fleet system based on bookings, the IDs of up to 1200 users are stored as a “whitelist” in the memory of our devices and conveniently managed via CCom. Access can therefore be granted without instant cell phone communication.
As a result, no connection to a booking system is required for this type of use, which significantly reduces system costs. Of course, vehicle and usage information are also available with this solution via our CCom web interface or the interfaces to third-party systems. Thus, our fleet management system provides a complete overview of the respective drivers and their use at all times.
Reservations and permanent access control can be used in a mixed way without any problems. When used with time-dependent bookings, “whitelist” access is often used, for example, to give employees or technicians permanent access to the vehicles. With C-Compact, you get a strong and very flexible fleet management system.
No need to hand over the keys
The vehicle key is placed in the glove compartment as standard, so the handover is completely omitted. Unsafe handover locations, high effort and long waiting times for handover, as well as missing vehicle keys are a thing of the past with our fleet management system. However, many vehicle models are also used completely keyless in combination with our system.
Fleet Management System – detailed information on location and usage
With C-Compact you have full control and overview of your entire fleet – regardless of the respective location. Our system for pool vehicle optimization can easily be used for a large number of vehicles regardless of location and allows not only the location determination but also an exact recording of all trips and vehicle data.
- Multiple users/separation of trips: Multiple users can access the vehicles by using RFID cards and/or the app. Reservations can include several (max. 13) authorized users. Every user change, even within a reservation/usage, automatically generates a partial trip data record in our fleet management system, which contains all relevant data for the logbook or billing. For example, business and private trips can be separated by storing a private and a business ID for each user.
- Location determination: C-Compact is also optimized for fleet operation with many different locations. These do not have to be fixed: one-way trips are also possible. The exact position of the vehicle is known at all times thanks to GPS determination, which means that you always have a clear overview.
In addition to enhanced security and a high-level of operating comfort, the collection, transmission, and evaluation of trip and vehicle data are among the core elements of a strong fleet management system and thus create the basis for fleet optimization. The data helps you to optimize your fleet size – with exact usage data, unused reservation times, unused bookings, and repeated long periods without usage can be detected and tracked.
This detailed tracking is actively enabled and supported by our intelligently designed fleet management system: Each access, whether based on reservations or via permanent access generates one or more driving data records, containing all relevant (partial) usage data for analysis for internal billing and, if necessary, the designation or charging of private trips. This provides you with a strong database for the long-term planning and optimization of your fleet.
If required, the fleet management system provides all data for a recognized logbook. It completely eliminates the need to keep a logbook manually, missing or incomplete entries, and the associated administrative effort can simply be avoided. Depending on the configuration, it is also possible to provide the necessary data for partial journeys, e.g., to record every logout of the user or ignition on/ off event or send part trip data after some time without vehicle movement.
Instead of access control based on bookings or whitelists, the device can be configured in a way that the user must re-identify certain time after ignition was switched off. Thus, our fleet management system provides full support for a very detailed logbook that can be easily used for internal and tax purposes. In logbook mode, the effort required to install the device is reduced to a few minutes, as the device only has to be plugged in and attached to the windscreen.
Diagnostics and vehicle status
The available diagnostic and vehicle information enables the timely initiation of repairs and prevents corresponding vehicle failures. If desired, information about driving behavior can also be recorded, e.g., for CO2 reduction measures or for Corporate Social Responsibility projects.

As a fleet owner, you are always informed about all the details about your vehicles and can take short-term measures, as well as plan a long-term optimization of your pool vehicles.
Cost-effective data transmission
Due to our specially compressed and data-saving transmission method, the communication costs remain extremely low. We are therefore also offering a very cheap SIM card including data volume starting from € 0.50 per month and vehicle. Of course, you can also use our fleet management system with your own SIM cards.
Privacy
All data transmissions to and from the vehicle are pseudonymized and encrypted. The access to the CCom web interface is finely scalable by roles and domains. The transmission of position data can be completely switched off or adapted to your needs. This means that you can easily meet all the requirements of the EU data protection directives (GDPR).

Only about 0.5 to 1 hour is usually needed to install C-Compact in a vehicle. The device is supplied with a suitable connection cable, on request also with OBD plug, and preferably attached to the windscreen of the vehicle.
Everything integrated in one device unit
In addition to the actual electronics, our C-Compact main unit also contains all antennas for GPS, cell phone, and Bluetooth communication. Therefore, the system can be set up and removed quickly and easily. There is no need to attach cables and antennas and these components will not be damaged when the device is removed.
Installation support
To make the installation process fast and easy, Convadis maintains an extensive and constantly updated library with several hundred installation instructions. In addition, our professional support team helps you and, if necessary, also provides online training to your installers for free. On request, Convadis is also offering compete vehicle on site installations in whole Europe, provided by our professional installation partners.
CAN bus data
The device can process the information from the CAN bus (the vehicle’s data-network). It also provides several other connection options to a wide range of vehicle models. In particular, up to 2 CAN bus systems can be connected simultaneously. Vehicle models that we do not yet know can be analyzed remotely, by the integrated CAN analyzer of our device. From the collected data, we then create the appropriate device configuration.
Universally installable in all vehicle models
C-Compact is in operation in a wide variety of vehicle types: In addition to combustion engines, electric, and hybrid cars, trucks and scooters are also in daily use with our system. This allows to operate your entire fleet with just one uniform system.
Flexible configuration
Our system can be individually adapted to your company-specific operating processes. For this purpose, dedicated configuration templates are created on our communication server CCom to standardize and optimize the processes. The predefined configuration is loaded on site to the device by the app of the installer. The appropriate firmware is also updated directly via the mobile network. Remote firmware updates and configuration adjustments can also be started directly from the control center via CCom.
