Features and functionality
C-Lockbox is an electronic locker for the theft-protected storage of keys or other items. It enables authorized users to access these items, either for a specific period of time or at any time.
Three different types of access are possible, which can also be used in combination:
- RFID cards
- Smartphone app (C-App) via BLE
- Cellular communication commands via the CCom communication server
Removal and return of objects are monitored via an RFID tag. As the box is permanently online, status changes are immediately transmitted to the server.
Time-controlled or permanent access
By connecting a reservation system to our CCom communication server (JSON/REST API available), time-dependent or unlimited access can be enabled for individual users. Reservations or whitelists are transmitted to the box via CCom. User lists for time-independent access can also be managed directly in our CCom web interface without a connected system and uploaded to the boxes.
Usage process
- A reservation or whitelist is sent to the lockbox and stored there.
- Users can log in
- by showing an RFID card to the right-hand side of the lockbox or
- by clicking on the opening command in the smartphone app or
- by a remote opening command from the CCom server or the reservation system.
- If the user is authorized at the time of login, the box opens. The LED flashes green once.
- The user can now remove the item attached to the blue RFID badge (e.g. a key) from the box. The removal is registered and immediately transmitted to the server.
- The user closes the box. Locking the box is also registered and reported to the server. The LED flashes green five times when the box is locked. If the box is not locked again after the item has been removed, an acoustic signal sounds for approx. one minute.
- At the end of use, the user unlocks the box again via RFID card, smartphone app or remote opening from the server.
- The user returns the key with the RFID badge to the holder in the box. The return is registered and reported back to the server.
- The user closes the box. This reports the end of use back to the server and the resource managed by the box can be released for the next use.
